Photoshop Express App ~ Two Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terrific for Most Folks ~ ⭐⭐⭐ Just Average for the Pro Users

Photoshop Express App receives Two Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Terrific for Most Folks. ⭐⭐⭐ Just Average for the Pro Users. Its surprising that Adobe produces an iPad photo-editing App, that relatively speaking, is missing that Robust Adobe Tool Set. I can understand that simplification is good for the iPone users; however, for the iPad, which has more speed, more memory, more display real-estate, the App is missing too much for me. However, for NOISE REDUCTION, Photoshop Express is the BEST of the all the Apps I’ve tested

Photogene4 is the Photo-Editing App that has ALL the “Bells &Whistles” that Photoshop users are used to. PS Express even with its “major improvement” missed the boat again. Reminder, for those that are not Image Editing Manics, PS Express may be just what you’ve been wanting. For someone that was brought-up on Photoshop on the PS and MAC, its a huge disappointment.

ADOBE® PHOTOSHOP® EXPRESS: This software App is written for the iPad, and the iPhone, both permits the use of simple "gestures" to quickly edit and share photos from your iPad mobile device. With Photoshop Express, it’s easy to improve your photos. Choose from a variety of one-touch effects, or simply drag your finger across the screen to crop, rotate, or adjust color. Add artistic filters like Soft Focus or Sketch. A copy of your original file is always saved, and you can undo and redo changes until you get the look you want.

Top editing features: • Basics: Crop, Straighten, Rotate, and Flip: • Color: Exposure, Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation, Tint, and Temperature. • Filters: Black & White, Colorize, Sketch, Soft Focus, Sharpen, and Reduce Noise. • Effects: Vibrant, Pop, Border, Vignette Blur, Warm Vintage, Rainbow, White Glow, Soft Black and White, and 45 additional effects that can be purchased. • Borders: Rectangle, Rounded, Oval, Soft Edge, Vignette, Rough Edge, Halftone, Film Emulsion, and 40 additional borders and frames that can be purchased.

In-App Purchase: Adobe Effects Pack. Give your photos some fun, a fresh looks using some 45 eye-catching effects. • Adjust effects with simple dragging motions. • Preview effects on your photos before you apply them. • Try effects before you buy the pack.

In-App Purchase: Adobe Camera Pack: • Reduce Noise: Even the best phone cameras can introduce small amounts of grain and speckling, called noise, into your photos. The Reduce Noise feature smooths out those flaws to quickly improve your photos. It’s fast, accurate, and puts professional Adobe Photoshop quality in the palm of your hand. • Self Timer: Get yourself in the photo or just ensure a steadier shot by setting a camera timer to 3- or 1-second intervals before your photo is snapped. • Auto Review: Make sure you get a good shot and delete it if you don’t. Auto Review gives you a quick look at your picture before the action passes you by.

In-App Purchase: Adobe Border Pack: • Explore different looks for your photos with over 40 vibrant borders & frames. • Change border colors by simply dragging over your photo. • Preview borders on your photos before you apply them. • Try borders before you buy the pack.

Hard part of this writing. As teaching pro and adjunct faculty for 13 years at FAU, a 30,000 student a Florida State University, teaching "Principles of Digital Photogrphy and Post Image Processing," authored a book of the same title, teaching his topic at FAU for over a decade; The core content of this class is PHOTOSHOP editing techniques, a PC/MAC based computer-lab course. One would think, when Adobe published an App for the iPad, it would be a "screaming package" of image editing capabilities… After all Adobe "invented" the World’s Standard for Image Editing.

Not so, for PS Express. Perhaps I know too much about the PC/MAC versions of Photoshop for 15 years. This App does not even have the LEVELS nor the CURVES graphic editing tools; No Cloan Stamp tool; no SKEW tool, no Image Size tool, no Canvas Size tool, no Dodging, no Burning, the list goes on, what this App does not have. I remain shocked with what Adobe left out of this App. Apparently Adobe is really happy with itself, with their goofie "gestures" which is a terribly inaccurate method of applying an image edit. Adobe needs to get with the program; Apple is selling some 80 million iPads a year, and less than 10% of that is in the PC/MAC universe. The iPad is where the folks are going; however, Adobe missed the boat.

PS Express, yes, we use it, but only for a few tools, (when I need a really strong noice reduction, quick image Straightening and Cropping; otherwise, I am headed over to Photogene’s App for the serious image editing, a true ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rated $3 App for sure.

Hopefully, Adobe will "get with the program" fire the iPad App management, and deliver a top level product, regardless of price.
