🍎 Apple Possible Surprise ~ Next iPhone May have a Larger Display. According to Bloomberg, a report by the Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times suggests that the tech giant, Apple has delayed releasing its flagship iPhone smartphone until later in the year because its screen will increase to 4.3"
🍎 According the Commercial Times, Apple is scheduled to release its next iPhone in September-October, 2013, but production may have been delayed because the design and technology of the SmartPhone changed in some fashion.
🍎 Apple announced the iPhone 5 last year on Sept. 12. Its 4" screen size was the first increase Apple has made since launching the original iPhone, which had a 3.5" Display. Pushing the release date to the end of the year, if this has any merit, would be not consistent with the previous iPhone iteration schedules for Apple.
🍎 Apple did not respond to a request for comment. Apple does not respond to rumors from "sources." Bottom line, Apple will release the next iPhone model when it is comfortable that it will be of high quality in quantities that it needs to deliver, knowing that when it is released many Millions of Units have to be stockpiled to support the opening weeks and months.
🍎 Recall that Apple Delivered and Sold (not shipped to stores shelves as Samsung reports) over 5 million iPhone 5 units during its first 3-day weekend. Reports have it, that every time Apple releases a new iPhone, the sales event is substantialy greater than the previous iPhone release. This year’s iPhone release may likely be another huge retail event, globally.
🍎 BTW, I’m pleased to report that we experienced a very long-line of thousands of customers at Boca Raton’s Apple Store early in the morning (5am) hoping to buy two iPhone 5 for my wife and I, which we did.
🍎 This excitment was like the lines one experiences when a Rock Concert is comng to town, and releases several thousand tickets for a Hugely Popular Event. By 1:00 pm on September 21st, 2012, a Friday if recall correctly, the Apple store sold every iPhone 5 they had in the building. The Demand and Excitement was totally Amazing. It was a Retail experience to witness, that no other consumer product has ever experienced.
🍎 During our wait on the long line, the Apple sales folks, and there were hundreds, every 15 minutes they wheeled carts stocked with Bottled Water, Coffee and Tea, (very classy no charge) to make the wait more comfortable. The moment the store opened (9am), everyone was cheering with the thrill of being part of this Apple Event. I just had to be there, to experience it for myself. I photograhed and videoed this experience which images were published by the local news papers. This may sound silly, spoken from someone in their 60′s, however, it was a site to see; and I was not the only post-60-year-old on line. It was very interesting meeting and speaking with many of the folks on line, while we were waiting…
🍎 Of note, Apple’s iPhone retention rate is about 95%. It has been reported that 22% of existing Andriod users defect to Apple’s iPhone.
